The Buildings Show Show Guide

In 2014, I was the lead designer at a Real Estate and Construction events company, Informa Canada. The big annual show was comprised of 4 sub-events (Construct Canada, Homebuilders Expo, PM Expo and Concrete Canada). My goal was to improve the creative standards of existing event artwork and streamline the sub-events into one cohesive brand.

A parent brand was created to encompass the sub-events called “The Buildings Show.” At the time I was leaving the company, but was asked to provide art direction for the new show guide.

REDESIGNED SHOW GUIDE COVERS

The big annual show included smaller real estate and construction sub-events and co-occurred with IIDEX Canada, a home design and decor event. IIDEX had historically been treated as a separate event. Once the parent brand was created, it made sense to bring IIDEX under the umbrella. To ensure IIDEX maintained it’s unique identity, I created a second cover.

FORMER SHOW GUIDE COVER

Informa had previously outsourced all the event artwork and show guides. Once the in-house creative team was established and the parent brand was implemented, I had creative licence to overhaul the design.
